Нусхаи чоаи

   A bilateral meeting was held in Dushanbe between the leadership of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and representatives of the Aga Khan Foundation in Tajikistan.

  During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to strengthen scientific and technical cooperation, implement joint projects in the fields of water resources management, hydropower development, environmental protection, climate change adaptation, and disaster risk reduction.

  At the conclusion of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan and the Aga Khan Foundation in Tajikistan. The MoU aims to establish long-term scientific and technical cooperation, promote joint research activities, support the monitoring and study of Lake Sarez, strengthen the Institute’s scientific and technical capacities, and facilitate the organization of conferences, seminars, forums, and training programs.

  Particular attention within the framework of the partnership will be given to supporting the implementation of Tajikistan’s National Water Strategy up to 2040, promoting innovative solutions in water resources management, enhancing climate resilience, and advancing research in priority scientific areas.

  The parties expressed confidence that the implementation of the Memorandum will contribute to strengthening the country’s scientific potential, expanding international partnerships, and advancing initiatives related to sustainable development, water security, environmental sustainability, and climate adaptation.

  At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further expanding cooperation and ensuring the effective implementation of joint projects of mutual interest.
