The conference was attended by the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan in the Shohmansur District Gulmakhmadzoda Z.A., representatives of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Deputy Chairman of the Primary Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan "Hiradmandon" at the NAST, members of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan, as well as scientists and veterans of the water sector.
The conference addressed issues related to global climate change and melting glaciers, as well as freshwater scarcity in the world.
The conference heard reports by Z. Kobuli, Head of the Laboratory of Ecology and Sustainable Development, on "Peculiarities of Rivers in Tajikistan and their Hydrological Characteristics" and Sitora Mirzokhonova, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Climatology and Glaciology, on "Climate Change and its Impact on Water Resources".
As part of the conference agenda, six staff members of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan were accepted as members of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan. At the same time, 5 active staff members of the Institute were awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Primary Committee of the People's Democratic Party of Tajikistan "Hiradmandon".
