Sustainability Assessment of Water-Energy-Food-Environment Nexus for Irrigated Agriculture: Interdisciplinary Approaches for Central Asia (WEFCA)

  National Research University "Tashkent Institute of Irrigation Engineers and Agricultural Mechanization" and International Water Management Institute (IWMI) within the framework of NEXUS GAINS initiative organized the 2nd International Summer School - 2023 "Sustainability Assessment of Water-Energy-Food-Environment Nexus for Irrigated Agriculture: Interdisciplinary Approaches for Central Asia (WEFCA)" on 21-25 August 2023 in Tashkent.

Future for water safety

 South Africa (Cape Town) hosted the final conference "Future for water safety" on 15-17 February 2023. (TFWS), organized by the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Consulting Company on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and other international organizations. The main objective of the conference: actions on water security and mobilization of coalition and "goal-oriented alliances" to promote TFWS missions ahead of the UN Water Conference 2023 in March and to accelerate implementation.

Water security - the basis of sustainable development

  In honor of the International Decade of Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" and the 20th anniversary of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, an International Scientific and Practical Conference "Water Security - the Basis for Sustainable Development" was held on October 5-6, 2022 at the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of NAST. Scientists and researchers from the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Executive Committee of "International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea", Tajik National University, Tajik Technical University named after Academician M.Osimi, Tajik Agrarian University named after Shirinsho Shokhtemur, Geographical Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences, Ministry of Water Management of Uzbekistan, International Institute of Water Management of Uzbekistan took part in this conference.
