  On June 2, 2026, the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan hosted a scientific seminar titled "Expanding Cooperation with the IAEA in the Development and Application of Modern Technologies in the Field of Water Quality."

The seminar featured presentations by IAEA representatives Yulia Vystavnaya and Professor Frédéric Huneau (University of Corsica, France), as well as institute researchers Firdavs Shaymuradov and Anvar Qodirov.

The primary objective of the seminar was to discuss prospects for expanding cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in the application of modern technologies for the assessment, monitoring, and improvement of water quality, as well as to strengthen scientific and institutional collaboration in this field. The IAEA guests introduced participants to the IAEA's GLOW-VAL network and its role in supporting effective water resource management.

The seminar concluded with a practical demonstration by the visiting experts, showcasing equipment used for determining chemical elements and gases in water composition and for assessing overall water quality.
