Cooperation on field sampling of annual rings of trees in Tajikistan

  From August 20 to 27, 2024, representatives of the Institute of Metrology and Desert of the Chinese Metrological Administration Ruibo Zhang, Shulong Yu, Dong Guo together with the staff of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan Rakhimov Ilkhomiddin and Akhsanjon Akhmadov conducted field sampling of annual rings of trees in Tajikistan.

The UNGA adopted a resolution entitled “Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences, 2025-2034”

  On August 13, 2024, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted the resolution “Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences, 2025-2034”, which was facilitated by the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of France.

By adopting the said Resolution, the period from 2025 to 2034 is proclaimed as the Decade of Action for Cryospheric Sciences in order to promote global scientific cooperation, especially through conducting related scientific research, monitoring and sustainable development efforts within the framework of existing structures, resources and voluntary contributions to address the challenges associated with melting glaciers and changes to the cryosphere.

  From June 10 to 13, 2024, the Third high-level international conference within the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" took place in Dushanbe. During this event, forums, festivals, and exhibitions were held. Representatives of the Institute of Water Problems, Hydropower, and Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan took part in the exhibition, which was held at the Kohi Somon Exhibition Complex in the city of Dushanbe. At the exhibition, they presented to the guests the scientific achievements of the institute's scientists and research equipment. The exhibition was attended by guests from 80 countries, representatives of various ministries and departments, as well as scientists and researchers from the Republic of Tajikistan.
